Dear Mama,

I miss you and I love you with all my heart.

You are the strength that powers my being
You are the compass that guides my path
You are the voice in everything I'm saying
You are the joy that makes me laugh
You comforted me when I was unhappy
Once I was broken and you were there to fix me

You gave up your dreams, so I can have mine.
You welcomed strife, so I can have my life
You walked this world with the stillness of mind
An exceptional mother, a loyal and loving wife
You fought my battles when I can't do it myself
Because I had been broken, and needed your help

I thank God for giving you to me as my mother
I thank God for making you my father's wife
I thank God for giving you to me as a role model
I thank God for giving us, your kids, a chance at life

Now our hearts may be saddened to see you go
But we understand 'cause God needs you too
At least now I know I am no longer broken
For God has finally taken you back to heaven.
